Our story begins in the 1850s, during a difficult migration from Central Asia into the unknown. Forced to leave everything behind, our ancestors carried with them only their most precious treasures: their ancient sourdough starter and the beeswax cloths that protected it.
Roots Growing in Giresun
After months on the road, our family finally reached Giresun, a lush and fertile corner of the Black Sea. Here, Sultan Mother reconnected with nature and began weaving the wisdom of her ancestors with the natural richness of this land.
The Birth of a Natural Craft
Using Giresun’s pure beeswax and fine linens, Sultan Mother began preserving not only bread, but also cheese, greens, and vegetables. Food stayed fresh for days—naturally, safely, and without waste.

Today, as the children and grandchildren of Sultan Mother, we carry her century-old wisdom into the modern world. We revived her legacy under the name Mumywrap, offering a natural alternative to plastic waste.
